We recently engaged in a heartwarming activity: crafting paper hearts from recycled newspapers! This simple yet meaningful project brought joy, creativity, and a touch of love to our residents.
Using basic origami techniques, our residents transformed ordinary colourful pages into beautiful heart shapes. The process not only stimulated their minds and fine motor skills but also provided a wonderful opportunity for social interaction and reminiscing.
Many shared stories of loved ones and special occasions, filling the room with warmth and affection.
Paper heart crafting is a fantastic activity for seniors, offering cognitive stimulation, improving dexterity, and fostering a sense of accomplishment. It's also a wonderful way to repurpose materials and promote sustainability.
One resident, Mrs. Lim, shared, "This reminds me of when I used to make paper hearts for my husband on Valentine's Day. We didn't have much money, but these little gestures meant the world to us." Her heartfelt words sparked a wave of shared memories and laughter.
The finished paper hearts were proudly displayed, serving as a visual reminder of the love and connection within our community. This activity reinforced the importance of expressing affection and spreading kindness, especially during challenging times.
At FCC Family Care Centre, we believe in creating a nurturing environment where our residents feel valued, supported, and loved. Our paper heart craft was a simple yet powerful way to achieve this goal, leaving everyone with a smile on their face and a heart full of joy!
We welcome everyone to live well and be present with us.
